Your Real Estate Resource is a REALTOR®!
The Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® (OBAR) is the largest trade organization in Northeast North Carolina.
Why a REALTOR®
What makes REALTORS® your best resource for buying or selling property on the Outer Banks? We are held to a higher standard. Not only by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (NCREC), but by our commitment to stand accountable to our peers within our association.
What makes a REALTOR®
Only licensed real estate agents who have pledged to uphold the REALTOR® Professional Standards and Code of Ethics policies can be REALTORS® . As such, REALTORS® represent the highest standard of professionalism. Each REALTOR® is kept current on regulations and ethics through required continual education. We also remain informed on local, state, and national issues that effect your property rights so our association can effectively work to protect these rights, promote affordable housing, and help build better communities.
On This Site
The OBAR website provides information to assist with locating a REALTOR®, contacting our staff, and defining our mission to protect homeownership through political advocacy. For REALTORS®, the website provides information on educational opportunities, professional development seminars, and technology for our members.
2017 OBAR Goals
My goal this year, as Association President, is to expand local availability of motivational training and skill development for our members. We have an amazing group of professionals who can’t always run off to training or seminars outside of the area. I can attest that we all want to better serve our neighbors, residents, and visitors alike while maintaining a good balance of family, work, and fun. After all, that is why we call the Outer Banks home.
