Several property insurance carriers are not renewing homeowners insurance policies, mostly east of I-95. Two local insurance providers were notified that over 1,400 of their policyholders would be affected. You may want to contact your homeowners insurance agent to see if you will be impacted at renewal - or if any of your sellers/buyers may be impacted. In some instances you may have less than 30 days to find new coverage and the advice of one local retired insurance agent at a recent Dare County meeting is “SHOP AROUND”!
