Dear fellow REALTOR® and OBAR member,
Since its inception in 1962, the Dare County Board of REALTORS® has been a symbol of dedication, vision, and growth. What started with just 12 individuals with a dream for the future has evolved into the thriving Outer Banks Association of REALTORS®, thanks to the hard work and commitment of numerous professionals over the years.
In 1988, we reached a significant milestone when we were officially incorporated, and by 1994, our membership had grown to include 379 REALTOR® members and 42 associate members. As we expanded our reach to encompass other counties, the National Association of REALTORS® recognized our journey by approving our request to become the Outer Banks Association of REALTORS® on November 7th of that year.
Today, I am reaching out to you, the lifeblood of our organization, to consider "Stepping Up" in 2024. As a primarily volunteer-driven entity, our strength lies in the diversity of our members, their talents, and their innovative ideas. It is vital that we continue to attract fresh faces and perspectives to guide this Association into the future.
I urge you to consider joining one of our committees and contributing your expertise in the coming year. Let's not take it for granted that there will always be enough volunteers to fill these roles; the reality is, we need your involvement. If you are unable to serve next year, please take a moment to encourage someone you know who can make a meaningful contribution. Together, we can sustain the excellence of OBAR.
As we approach the end of this year, I acknowledge the significant accomplishments of your 2023 OBAR President, Natalie Painter, as well as the dedication of the 2023 officers & directors, and the tireless efforts of OBAR CEO Willo Kelly and our exceptional association staff. They have worked diligently to enhance services and member benefits, and I am committed to building on this progress.
Let's maintain this momentum and keep OBAR on its upward trajectory. Your support is invaluable, and I kindly ask that you take a minute to sign up for a committee today. Together, we can shape the future of the Outer Banks Association of REALTORS®.
