NC REALTORS Working to Dispel NAR Settlement Agreement Myths

Did you miss last week's GMM?  Well, you are in luck! NC REALTORS President Tony Harrington sent an invitation to all NC REALTORS today encouraging them to register for a webinar briefing on the NAR lawsuit settlement agreement and the impact on NC real estate professionals, just like the one held at OBAR's April GMM.

Given the recent media coverage regarding the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) commission lawsuit settlement, achieving clarity is imperative. President Harrington wants to reaffirm that NC REALTORS® is doing everything they can to dispel these misconceptions and instead highlight the true, client-centered values upheld by North Carolina REALTORS®.

The NC REALTORS® leadership team and association staff are working diligently to stand up for you and other members and ensure that the public, communities, and your clients understand the exceptional service provided by NC REALTORS®. President Harrington recently submitted an op-ed expressing NCR's unwavering commitment in North Carolina, which you can read here.

In the article, one of the key factors that sets our state apart was highlighted: the requirement for buyer representation agreements in every real estate transaction. This achievement is the result of years of dedication and expertise from member volunteers and lawyers who diligently review and update the NC REALTORS®-approved forms to ensure their relevance and effectiveness in safeguarding your transactions.

As a member of NC REALTORS®, you have exclusive access to these forms and a wide range of resources to support you and your clients. These include comprehensive buyer and seller guides, Legal Q&As, and a library of risk management tools. Additionally, you can contact the NC REALTORS® Legal Hotline, staffed by a team of dedicated lawyers who are readily available to assist with any business-related inquiries or client concerns. Maurice Brown, NCR Program Development Manager, shared these and other benefits with you at the April GMM. You can find all of these great benefits on NCR's website at ncrealtors.org.

NC REALTORS® wants you to know that they have your back every step of the way. Visit ncrealtors.org/NARLawsuits and facts.realtor for reliable news, resources, FAQs, and more.

Additionally, NC REALTORS® is hosting two additional webinar briefings this month to address any questions you may have regarding the litigation's impact on real estate practices in North Carolina. If you attended the first briefing last week at the GMM, you do not need to register for these additional sessions, as each covers the same content. Attendance is free, but pre-registration is required due to limited seats.
