A Letter From the President

January 2021

Happy New Year! It is an honor to be serving as your 2021 President. I would like to thank the prior Board and Immediate Past President Jimmy Anderson for leading us through a challenging 2020. And a special thanks to the volunteers that chaired or served on a committee and stayed the course!

In the face of the pandemic, we succeeded in advocating on the local level that our members be included on the list of essential workers. The OBAR office remained open and together we were able to accomplish some very big member-focused initiatives that included transferring to a new membership database system, developing a new website, upgrading our technology, implementing an online voting system, and more. We not only maintained our level of service, we completed a rewrite of our bylaws, exceeded our RPAC goals winning the NC REALTORS® RPAC Triple Crown Award, and provided even more opportunities for you to grow your business and be engaged without ever having to leave your home.

Remember, this is YOUR association and we need YOUR knowledge, experience, involvement, input and feedback to ensure success in 2021! I hope that you volunteer or answer, “Yes, how can I help”, when called upon to participate in a focus group or task force.

As always, I am open to new and fresh ideas and look forward to hearing what you think about moving your association and the real estate industry forward.
