“Drones, Nanny-cams and Other Privacy Issues for RE Professionals” Elective
(Check in: 1 p.m.)
Thursday, October 19, 2017, 1:30-5:30 p.m.
Location:
Ramada Plaza Nags Head Oceanfront, 1701 S Virginia Dare Trail, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948
Course Description: During the course of transactions, real estate professionals obtain incredibly valuable and private information, such as the intimate details of clients’ lives and relationships, their financial history, negotiating strategy, and other personal information. Technology further enables real estate licensees to obtain, transmit, and store this valuable data. Drones, one of the latest in a long line of dazzling technological wizardry, enables agents to market real estate in ways that were unthinkable even ten years ago, including the ability to peer inside the private space of clients and others. Social media and older technologies, such as nanny-cams, have now provided indications that they can be used for nefarious activities as well as for good. It is the purpose of this course to help real estate licensee grasp the significant ethical and legal issues dealing with privacy and confidentiality.
