Donna Creef
Government Affairs Director
Creef Consulting LLC
Donna Creef joined OBAR as Government Affairs Director On September 2, 2022. Donna had an extensive career with the Dare County Planning Department, having worked there from 1988 until early this year. The last twelve years of her service with Dare County was as Planning Director.
Donna is well known for her work with flood insurance, local elevation standards, was the principal designer of the "Low Risk is Not No Risk" campaign, and drafted Dare’s current land use plans. She has worked with all local municipalities and arranged multiple public forums to educate residents and councilmen.
Donna says, “One of the biggest issues is the essential and workforce housing issue and the secondary consequences of the housing crisis on the community, specifically the workforce shortage and quality of life impacts.” Through her role as GAD, she is looking forward to advocating issues such as housing, economic sustainability, and property rights.
Donna continues, “I think it is important for OBAR to be recognized as pro-community and not thought of as pro-development since REALTORS® are community members also with vested interests in the quality of life issues and vitality of the Outer Banks.
Donna, a 34 year resident of the Outer Banks, is the owner of Creef Consulting LLC, and graduated with Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from East Carolina University. She is replacing former OBAR GAD Porter Graham who left in April to work in government affairs for the Associated Builders and Contractors in Washington, DC.
