The real estate page offers articles on a wide range of subjects including home buying tips, real estate statistics, safety, and other real estate hot topics, as well as all things OBAR. The articles are for REALTORS® and locals and are written by OBAR staff or shared from popular websites like NC REALTORS®, NAR, realtor.com, houselogic.com and more.

NAR Commitment to Excellence
REALTORS® defined professionalism in this industry more than 100 years ago when they created the Code of Ethics. C2EX takes professionalism to the next level by enabling NAR members to assess their expertise in 10 (11 for brokers) elements of professionalism ranging from customer service to use of technology.
This innovative engagement tool encourages participation in all levels of the REALTOR® organization. It’s not a designation or a course. It’s not a requirement, but a benefit available to all NAR members at no additional cost.
To begin you must take a self-assessment that measures your proficiency in each of the elements of professionalism, known as the C2EX Competencies. Based on your results, the platform will generate customized learning paths, recommend experiences, and provide tools and resources to increase your knowledge and enhance your skillsets.
Be an advocate for the future of our industry. Be committed to excellence. Go to https://www.c2ex.realtor/ to get started!

Safety is No Accident
As the busy summer season approaches, OBAR would like to remind everyone that NOW is the time to make sure you have your safety strategies in place and up-to-date.
The first place you should start is having a ready to use Action Plan Worksheet. This template is a great way to get your team ready.
Also, we know that company rosters change often (new agents, changing agents, etc.), for this reason contact information should be updated and distributed frequently. And don’t forget to notify OBAR of any changes!
OBAR, along with NC REALTORS® and NAR, are committed to keeping our members safe. For great tips, articles, webinars, and more on safety click HERE.
And remember–safety is NO accident!
Show properties before dark. If you are going to be working after hours, advise your associate or first-line supervisor of your schedule. If you must show a property after dark, turn on all lights as you go through, and don’t lower any shades or draw curtains or blinds.
